NATURAL INTERESTS

Lush farming areas - mainly potatoes, cattle and dairy surround the
Conference Centre. The rolling green hills around Robertson were the
home to the movie "Babe"

Well-known local beauty spots are: Fitzroy Falls, Belmore Falls,
Carrington Falls, Mannings Lookout and Hindmarsh Lookout
overlooking the Kangaroo Valley.

The latest tourist attraction which is proving a great success is the
Illawarra Fly tree top walk. Visitors from around Australia and even
the world are experiencing the rainforest and escarpment just outside
of Robertson. The tree top walk provides a fantastic view of the south
coast between Wollongong and Kiama.

Approximately 65 kms west of Mittagong is Wombeyan Caves.
These are an extensive series of beautiful limestone caves. Five
caves are easily accessible on graded paths. Guided tours are
available, or a self-guided tour can be taken through one of the caves
by following the paths.

Just a short distance from the town centre of Robertson is Robertson
Nature Reserve. The reserve holds one of the natural treasures of the
Southern Highlands, a remnant of the famous 'Yarrawa Brush'.

Also nearby (about 30 minutes away) is Minnamurra Rainforest and
Falls. This area has a boardwalk through the rainforest and much
native flora and fauna can be seen on this walk.

Kiama is also 45 minutes away. It is a pretty beachside town with
the much loved tourist attraction of the Blowhole.
